A recent report by GadgetsNow claims that a man-based in Jaipur has been reportedly duped of Rs. 1,10,000 while linking his Aadhaar card with his mobile number. The report claims that SK Brijwani, a resident of Jaipur was asked by a youth to link his mobile number with his Aadhaar card. The person has claimed to have deactivated his SIM card and has given him a new one. However, the old SIM wasn’t deactivated and the youth withdrew a sum of Rs. 1,10,000 from his bank account.
The victim had received a call to prompting him to link his mobile number and Aadhaar card and that his SIM card will be deactivated if he failed to do so. Following the same, he is claimed to have received an SMS asking him to send the SIM to the service center. Soon after the message, his SIM card has stopped working. When he visited the bank the next day, he has got to know about the withdrawal of Rs. 1,10,000. It is also stated that he has filed a complaint with the police regarding the fraud.
